With Spring comes Babies.

Each Spring, along with flowers bursting into colour and tree sprouting new growth, invariably comes new life.

Here is new born Dexter calf, Gigi, with her mummy, Babette. This was taken only a few minutes after Gigi was born at 5.30 am.

The other cows are saying hello, and checking to make sure she is okay.

Here she is learning to stand and about to take her first steps. In this photo she appears to be a dark brown colour, however when she dries she'll be a beautiful red, just like her mummy.

Here she is an hour later meeting our son. You can see mum has no problem with us being there, she knows we won't hurt her daughter.

Dexters have a patch of hair just above their nose which lets you know the colour they will eventually be.

What is your favourite farm animal and why?

That is one cute baby cow! My Beloved goes ga ga over the baby elephants in the Melbourne zoo. There's something about babies.... even gigantic ones! xx
